World Race Training Camp and Washington, D.C.

World Race Training Camp is officially over. 200-300 World Racers made their way to Gainesville, Georgia, June 8 for 10 days of training. It was a way for them to build relationships within their squad, learn about life on the foreign mission field, and spend time with the Lord while allowing Him to bring up areas of brokenness in them in order to provide healing. It’s a beautiful time that somehow crawls AND flies by.

I worked with 4th generation L squad. They are the 3rd World Race Expedition squad to launch and they will be spending their time traveling within South America, serving each country in the continent.

I LOVE this squad so much! They are a solid group of individuals that are ready and hungry for all that the Lord has for them. I am so excited to see how God works in and through them. Most (if not all) had some visible changes and growth in these 10 days that I know will continue on.

[Check out Tiara, one of the ladies on L squad, and her journey into the unknown]

Through leading and serving them the past 10 days, I have learned so much about myself and what the Lord is leading me into. I am still processing (and catching up on sleep AND laundry), but like I expected, this Training Camp has made clear some areas of growth, strength, and direction. Maybe I’ll be able to formulate it into a blog soon (but in the meantime, ask me personally).

One thing that I did not expect to happen is something that I am walking into for the next 14 days.

As many of you know, several years ago, I spent a summer leading urban mission trips with Center for Student Missions in D.C. It solidified my love for the city and short term mission trips.

Adventures in Missions has programs similar to CSM and facilitates short term trips throughout the world for church groups. They have a trip to D.C. next Sunday.

I am so excited to let you know that I will be co-leading that trip of 32 people. God has really orchestrated this in a unique way and am convinced that this is something He is calling me into.

I’m excited to live out the lessons I have learned and the life changes that I have experienced while leading others into a city that I am weirdly passionate about.

Seriously, I’m so excited. I’ll be leading them throughout the city to their different ministry sites, serving them, showing them the city, and debriefing/teaching as we go. Like I mentioned, God really orchestrated this. Two months ago, I originally said “no” to leading this trip for various reasons. I didn’t feel peace while saying “no’ but thought it made the most sense. They weren’t able to find any leaders for it and I was asked again. After more prayer into it, I believe God intended me for this trip the entire time and I finally said “yes.”

However, I need your help to make this possible. As you know, I raise financial support to be able to learn, serve and lead. Will you partner with me to make this trip and my time in CGA possible? I have not met my May deadline and am quickly approaching the next deadline at the end of this month.

My time in CGA has changed the trajectory of my life and I am so blessed to have the opportunity to begin living that out throughout this semester. In order to do that though, I need to raise another $3000 total. If I don’t raise this, I will not be able to finish the program. Please consider financial support by clicking the “Donate” tab and following the link. I really appreciate your prayerful consideration of this.

And if you are interested, I am sending out monthly newsletters, highlighting more about what I do while in CGA. Click here and subscribe to that newsletter.

I am so thankful that you took the time to read this post and continuously support me through encouragement and prayer! I would love to hear from you. Shoot me a line or comment below.
